Soltron and Lemonade Tactical Marketing presents a night dedicated to the Afterlife. Vancouver artist Soltron (aka Sol) will be featuring new paintings dedicated to a personal mythology.
Afterlife depicts a purgatory where everything undergoes a transformative process, where living things become ghosts, souls are locked inside polygonal cocoons, and spirits exist in their own after-life cycle. The ideas are partly based on recurring night-terrors he endured as a teenager where powerful hallucinations appearing as spinning polygons would manifest themselves while in a semi-conscious state. The appearance of these intense visions and mysterious objects coincided with the transient state between waking life and sleep - this inspired Sol to explore the possibilities of what may exist in the much more powerful transient state between life and death.
The show will also display many of Sol’s other works including illustration work he has done over the past year. Beer and wine will be served. Please RSVP through facebook, myspace or email.
